| The new Red Seal edition is superior to the original Gold Seal. The RS has far greater dynamic range and detail in both the highs and lows than the GS which suffers from an overuse of filtering and noise reduction. Also FM Sym I dated 1941.03.16 FM appears to be a different take on at least the first part of first movement. Note extreme broadening at approx 3 minute. Need pitch control totry to sync up. Fourth movement appear to be the same except for dynamics aren't as good on FM and poorer highs. CRM much better open highs than GS but dynamics and low end are much more distorted. Try 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 +4 +8 +12 on GS. AT too much acetate noise and distortion. |
