| Naxos best tonal balance but not anywhere near the dynamic range of FM and GS. I don't know whether it is true dynamics or whether the original had somebody riding the gain knob to remove the original dynamics and then somebody did the reverse for the FM and GS. Both FM and GS have really nasty sounding brass that I can only barely tame with EQ of 0 0 0 0 0 -4 -8 -10 -4 +4. ATS similar to Naxos with somewhat less highs and pitched 1% fast. NE poor with some coloration. My favorite Leonore Overture. |
